Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the URL `https://rankmath.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Click-on-the-Blocked-Due-To-Other-4XX-Issue.png being blocked due to another 4xx issue in Google Search Console. This error indicates that Googlebot encountered a client-side error that isn’t a typical 404, 401, or 403 error.
To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:
-
Check Your .htaccess File: The .htaccess
file may be misconfigured. You can regenerate it by going to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess. If this section is unavailable, ensure that you’ve switched to the Advanced Mode in Rank Math.

-
Check Your Robots.txt File: Ensure that your robots.txt
file is not blocking access to the admin-ajax.php
file. You can edit your robots.txt
file by going to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .robots.txt. Again, ensure you are in Advanced Mode if this section is not visible.

The default rules should include:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
Sitemap: yoursite.com/sitemap_index.xml
-
Identify the Specific Error: Use Google Search Console to identify the specific pages triggering the issue. Go to the Pages section and click on the Not indexed tab to see a list of all the 4xx errors logged.

-
Set Up Redirects: If there are any 404 errors, consider setting up redirects to guide visitors to another page on your site.
-
Consult Your Hosting Provider: If the issue persists, it may be related to temporary server issues, and working with your hosting provider could help identify and resolve the underlying cause.

Hello,
The /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file where the error is triggered should not be indexed, so it is fine that it is showing a 4xx error in the Google Search Console.
The path is already allowed in your robots.txt, which should be the default and recommended rule from Rank Math.
In this case, you can safely ignore the error/warning as this will not affect your indexing and ranking.
Looking forward to helping you.
