Please note that indexed not submitted in sitemap means that Google has indexed your posts but not through the sitemap, Google might have found these pages through the internal links while crawling the existing pages.
There is no need to worry about it as Google will still index the pages normally.

To decrease the number of links, you will have to manually delete them. You can remove the unused/unnecessary links on your website. If your website is dynamic, then you might consider allowing fewer blocks on a page so that fewer links are generated.
At the same time, you will also have to ensure that you do not remove important links since doing that might negatively impact your website. I found some articles that might be helpful for you:
