priceSpecification

    Hi,

    On Google Search Console, I’ve got some product items marked as invalid with “Missing field “priceType” (in “offers.priceSpecification”)”.
    I’m using Product Schema type on products. They are listed on Merchant Center too and Google Shopping has the products as well.
    Still, Google Search Console / Merchant Listings gives me this warning and products are invalid.

    What is this “priceType” that Google is so eager about having it?

    Thanks,
    Laszlo Schramel

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    The issue is coming from a new feature called Merchant Listings Google which was released recently: https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2022/09/merchant-listings

    However, we are already aware of this and will soon implement this in our Product Schema. For now, please use the following filter to add the priceType field to the Schema:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/snippet/rich_snippet_product_entity', function( $entity ) {
    	$entity['offers']['priceSpecification']['priceType'] = "Regular";
    	return $entity;
    });

    And here is how to add a filter to your site:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.
