    Rank Math free

We migrated from Yoast to RankMath and re-did all of Meta Descriptions. It seems like a few old Meta Descriptions continue to persist for example on the home page https://accumulatenetwork.io/

The Meta Description that appears is from when we had Yoast, but the new Meta Description entered in RankMath does not appear on View Page Source. We’ve tried clearing Cache.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked the link on your site where Rank Math uses to update the meta and other changes, but it seems that it is getting blocked by WordFence.

In this case, please follow the steps in this link to fix this issue:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/whitelist-rank-math-in-wordfence/

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

Hi Reinelle, thanks, I have followed the steps on the link you provided. Is there anything else I should do?

    Hello,

If the route is already whitelisted you should be able to save the new meta descriptions and they should show on the source code of the page.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Hello, thanks. I’m going to add a few screenshots here as it seems there is still an issue.

Here are a few images that show the meta description setting on the page and on the RankMath Global Settings.

In addition, there is an image that shows how the home page meta description is still appearing as an older one we had set a long time ago.

We have tried clearing the cache as well. Any ideas? Thanks, Jay

    Hello,

In this case, if you wanted to force the use of the meta description in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Post, you may need to use this filter:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#use-global-meta-description

The filter should be added to your active theme’s functions.php file. Here’s another way to apply the filter using the rankmath.php file:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#adding-filters-and-hooks-in-rank-math-php

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

Hello, thanks but it looks like there’s a 404 error at that link
