  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with your Rank Math sitemap not updating correctly. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:

    1. Check for Custom Canonicals: If you have set custom canonical URLs for any of your posts, those posts will not appear in the sitemap. Ensure that you either remove the custom canonicals or allow Rank Math to generate them automatically.

    2. Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can conflict with Rank Math. You can check for plugin conflicts using the Health Check plugin.

    3. Robots.txt File: Ensure that your robots.txt file is not blocking any of your posts from being indexed. You can check this by going to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt.

    4. Sitemap Caching: If you are using caching plugins, they might be serving an old version of your sitemap. Clear your cache and see if that resolves the issue.

    5. Sitemap Settings: Make sure that all your posts are set to ‘Public’ and not ‘Private’ or ‘Draft’. Only published posts will appear in the sitemap.

If you’ve checked all these points and the issue persists, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or errors you might be encountering, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and bringing your concern to our attention.

Please note that the ‘Discovered Pages’ on the Google Search Console only shows the number of pages that were discovered using the sitemap, and since the sitemap is not the only tool Google uses to discover pages, the number of ‘Discovered Pages’ might differ from your number of pages on your sitemap.

Googlebot may have found the URLs from internal links or possibly from links on another site. It mostly happens when you have good internal linking or use the Instant Indexing plugin.

As long as the pages are getting indexed on Google, you don’t have to worry about this.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
