Post SEO When Using Shortcodes From Other Apps

I’m using WordPress Posts to display my posts. These posts comprise a heading, a short code from a video app and another short code to display an image gallery under the video. There is very little or no text. Each of the two apps allow for a heading, keywords, meta description etc. and could be used as stand alone posts.

My question is, how should I treat these two apps for SEO as the public only sees them on the WordPress Post? They only display on the site in the Post due to the short codes provided, so should I complete the headings and mete descriptions for these or or leave it all blank and just do SEO on the actual Post page?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay.

I’m not quite sure whether I fully understand your concern. But I’ll do my best, and please let me know if I misunderstood.

To summarize, the video and image gallery in your post has a feature in which you can input meta descriptions and keywords separately. Could you please confirm?

You can also share your post’s URL in the sensitive data section for us to check further.

    Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

For this case am assuming the gallery and the video make up the post content here. You need to do the SEO of the post since this is what search engines see.

The post SEO here should relate to your content which is the video and gallery content. Simply provide a description or SEO meta that is relevant to your content.

Also, consider doing individual SEO for the images here.

Therefore if it is the heading, use a heading for all three as you suggest in the first case.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you need more assistance.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
