    Hi,
When I learned about meta descriptions and titles, I used them with the help of RankMath.
I updated the posts but the meta description didn’t show in SERP. Although my meta description is related to the post, the points I got online and from your articles are all used. But still, this problem is coming.
Another problem is that my post is indexed but not ranking for proper keywords, and when I write ” in commas “ it shows my homepage without the homepage meta description, and post title in the homepage description.
Here is the screenshot of that page:
I am very worried about this problem, plz let me know the solution to this problem as soon as possible, I will be grateful to you.
    Thanks in Advance…
    Regards
    Muhammad Amin

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing with your meta descriptions and keyword rankings. Thank you for raising this concern.

Regarding the meta description not showing in the SERP, it’s important to note that Google sometimes chooses to display its own version of a meta description based on the content of the page, even if you’ve set one using Rank Math. This can happen if Google believes that the content on your page better matches the user’s search query. To improve the chances of your meta description being displayed, ensure that it is relevant, concise, and includes keywords that users might search for.

As for your post not ranking for the proper keywords, there could be several factors at play, including competition for those keywords, the quality of your content, backlinks, and overall site authority. It may take time for new content to rank, so patience is key.

Regarding the issue where searching for a specific phrase shows your homepage instead of the post, this could be due to how Google interprets the relevance of your homepage compared to the post. Make sure that your homepage meta title and description are distinct and relevant to your overall site content.

For further assistance, we recommend replying to this ticket. A human agent from the Rank Math Support team will be able to provide more tailored help regarding your specific situation.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to resolve this issue for you soon!

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

It is a pretty common thing with Google these days. It happens with 70% of the results and we even have a KB dedicated to this problem and a few solutions we recommend:

    https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

Please check the KB and you will understand the reasons Google does this.

Google has made some changes to their algorithm which automatically changes the titles, discarding the one you have set in your SEO title meta tag. This happens regardless of the SEO plugin you are using. We have covered this Google update here:

    https://rankmath.com/google-update/google-title-rewrite-update/

Regarding the fact that the proper page is not showing on Google that means it’s not well-optimized for the focus keywords, on the eyes of the Google algorithm.

You need to work on a winning SEO strategy for your website if you want to have a better chance of ranking the pages for the keywords you have on them.
