    hello,

i follow everything on your Article: https://rankmath.com/kb/pillar-content-internal-linking/

but i don t understand how i need to link it.

    Lets do an example:

I wanna rank with the Post “Astaxanthin”
And i create 3 more Posts that describing that topic lets say:
    -Astaxanthin Wirkung
    -Astaxanthin Empfehlungen
    -Astaxanthin leben

In which of that 4 Posts i need to set the chop for pillar content.
Should i need to set it only up for the main topic “Astaxanthin” ?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention.

If you wanted to build internal linking using the pillar content feature, you may need to mark the 3 more posts you have created as pillar content.

Once done, those 3 posts will be linked to your main post and will show under the link suggestion box.

Here’s a video tutorial you can follow as well:

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

okay thank you for your answer.

and the main post do not need to be marked as pillar content alright ?

And i saw that wordpress pingback hisself with an comment that i linked internal my page to other ones, should i let them to stay as spam or should i make them open in the comment section ?

    Hello,

Yes, if you want to link the three posts inside the main post then you should make those three posts the pillar content and leave the main post as a normal post.

And for the comment issue, can you please share a screenshot so it can be more clear to us what you are referring to? You can use a tool like https://imgbb.com to share the screenshots.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

i solved the problem, but in the pillar pages need to be an linking in the footer to the main page allright ?
and need the pillar pages to stay on index or should i take them to no index ?

And something other problem that i had before was:
On my Front Page i linked in the Content the post pages but google outrank the post pages and rank for the post keywords the front page, because the front page have much more authority than the post pages, but i solved that problem i deleted all internal linkings on my front page otherwise it will outrank my post pages 🙁

    best regards
    Emco

    Hello,

Ideally, you would leave all the pages that are connected to each other set to index otherwise there’s not much benefit in having it linking to pages that are not going to be indexed.

Also, as is mentioned in the article the pillar content should be evergreen content that is designed to answer old questions. Please refrain from adding a page to that feature just because you want to include a link to it from another page as that defeats the purpose of this feature.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

okay thank you for your answer, everygreen content means that the topic of the content will never goes out of date. How i know that this Content Post no need to update because its evergreen, because on every post page are meta data like autorname and autordate, should that google ignore if that post is an evergreen content?

I’am an blogger and write blog posts and i deleted the category slug / structure all URL s Permalink look like that here http://www.xyc.de/Post i deleted the http://www.xyc.de/category/post Permalink Structure, i hope that Pillar will work aswell for that Scheme. Because many saying to me its better to make Hubs with Breadcrumbs to giving the Category more Power for the Main Keyword. But i don t had it anymore i just have directly after the URL end the /Postname.

I hope pillar pages works with that tactic and i hope that this tactic is good for search engines too.

    Hello,

The evergreen content is something that you need to decide on your own if any post constitutes that type of content. You won’t get any SEO penalty for setting a piece of content as pillar content as that is only a feature used internally from our plugin but we don’t recommend setting any post as pillar content.

Regarding the permalink structure that you mentioned, this should work fine for pillar content as we don’t rely on the permalink structure to provide this functionality.

You don’t need to have the category for each post in the URL to create silos and hubs for your pieces of content. You can still group those in categories even without displaying that in the URL.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

thank you for your awesome answer <3

Need that Categorys be marked as index robots meta or Noindex robots meta ?
Because i am scarry about duplicated content.

Earlier i embeddd a Widget Box in my Front Page directly in the Content Area my newest Posts, and google index the front page for each post for each keyword, but google needed to index the post pages and not the front page. Now i delete it that google can reconize the post page as main for each keywords.

And i am scarry that the same process can happen with the Category pages.

What you think should i let the category pages to stay as no index meta tag robot or should i put them on index meta tag robot ?

    Hello,

If placing the posts on your homepage had caused an issue with the ranking of your posts in the SERPs then you should set your category pages as noindex as setting them to index can cause the same issue again.

And if you want to index your category pages then you should make sure that you de-optimize your category pages by reducing the blog excerpt/snippet length.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
