  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the permalink/slug character limits on your live website. It sounds like the slugs are being generated differently on your live site compared to your localhost setup.

Here are a few steps you can take to address this issue:

    1. Check Permalink Settings: Go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to Settings → Permalinks. Ensure that your permalink structure is set correctly. You might want to select the Post name option for better SEO-friendly URLs.

    2. Edit Slugs Manually: When creating or editing a product, you can manually set the slug to be shorter. In the Block Editor, click on the gear icon in the top-right corner, scroll down to the Permalink section, and edit the slug there.
      Set slug in WordPress Editor

    3. Use Rank Math Snippet Editor: If you are using Rank Math, you can also set the slug using the Rank Math Snippet Editor. Click on the Rank Math SEO icon in the top-right corner of the page and edit the slug in the Snippet Editor.

    4. Eliminate Unwanted Words: Make sure to eliminate any unnecessary words from your slugs. This can help keep them concise and under the character limit.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve it!

Sir I have the permalink setting in WordPress it is already selected Post Name, but still facing this issue
    Kindly guide me please

    Hello,

That’s because your live website domain is longer than your localhost URL.

Please note that the permalink field in Rank Math also counts your whole domain URL, from HTTPS to the last slash.

It is also noticeable from the URLs above the title from your screenshots that they already exceed the 75-character limit (cutting the URL and showing ... at the end)

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,
