I have used the Rank Math plugin to write my meta data and URL permalinks, however I am now experiencing an issue whereby my permalinks are changing unexpectedly.
What seems to be happening is the data in the SEO tab in Elementor is lagging from page to page, so for example, if I move from the Home page to the About page, the meta data from my Home page is still sitting in the SEO tab when on the About page, and I have to refresh the page in order for the correct About meta data to appear.
If I don’t refresh it will overwrite the permalink to match the previous page and put a ”2” after it, e.g. ”home-2”.
I’ve attached some screenshots to show how the meta data from one page remains when I swap to another page (moving from ‘Progressive Sales’ to ‘Google Shopping Optimisation’ in this instance). Explained below:
Screenshot 1 – Meta data for the ‘Progressive Sales’ page
Screenshot 2 – Meta data remains when I switch to ‘Google Shopping Optimisation’ page
Screenshot 3 – Correct meta data for ‘Google Shopping Optimisation’ page appears after refreshing the page
Screenshots 4 & 5 – If I forget to refresh the page then make some edits, then hit publish, the permalink changes to the previous page with a number added {progressive-sales-2). Although the other data (description, keyword) do revert back to the correct versions.
Screenshot 6 – This is a screenshot of the permalink options in Settings in the WP admin dashboard. I’m wondering if maybe the correct option isn’t ticked? Can you please advise on how I can resolve this, as it’s really not ideal?
