I have permalinks set to 1 which works fine however I have a plugin that uses the page ID like 2 which generates an error instead of displaying the page related to that page id. It works fine if I deactivate Rank Math but gives error when I reactivate Rank Math. I tried on several sites with same result. What setting in Rank Math will reject the use of page id’s in the url?

Hello,
Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Can you please confirm if the URL that you have shared in the sensitive data section is the URL of an actual page on your site? If not then please send a screenshot of the error that you get when you try to visit the URL with the page ids. You can use a tool like https://imgbb.com to share the screenshots.
We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
All the links in sensitive data are now correct.
Hello,
I checked the URLs and it returns a too many redirects error on the second URL.
Could you please confirm if the issue persists only when Rank Math is enabled with a default theme and the plugin that is using the second URL? You can check it using this troubleshooting guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
If yes, we might need to take a closer look at the issue. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Hello,

Thank you.
Hello,
I logged into your website’s admin area and I was able to replicate the issue.
Upon investigating further, I found that the issue gets resolved after disabling the Redirections module.
Please have a look at the screencast in the sensitive data section for a quick reference.
As you’ve not created any redirections, could you please confirm if you do not use the Redirections module of Rank Math?
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you.
Yes I do plan on using the redirect module in the future.
Thank you
TerryHello,
I’ve forwarded the details to our dev team for further investigation.
We would get back to you shortly.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
We wanted to make some changes to the settings but when trying to make changes we get a 403 error after hitting the “Save” button.
Could you please check the firewall settings of the website and make sure we can proceed with the changes to debug the issue?
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Please try now. Also after you get through please let me know which files you changed.
Hello,
The issue was caused by the fact that you had the fallback behavior of 404 pages to be redirected to the homepage and that was catching the page with the ID and returning a 404 before WordPress had a chance to redirect to the appropriate URL.
After switching that to the default behavior the page with the ID redirects to the event confirmation page as that is the page with that same ID.
Hope this helps solve your issues.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Ok, I understand but that still seems to be a problem since it would prevent the use of that feature. In other words the page id was good so it should never have redirected to a 404 page. That would make the redirect worthless if it can’t be used when a page is being called by the page id.
Hello,
On a usual website installation, this setting doesn’t cause any issues, but since your website is using so many
.htaccess
rules there’s likely one of them causing the improper redirect causing the page to throw a 404 when it’s loaded via the ID.At the moment the way to fix the situation is to change the fallback behavior on 404 pages as we instructed earlier. If in the future you want to evaluate all the server rules and possibly any custom filters on your website to try and find the culprit you are free to do so.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Miguel,
Please don’t think I am attacking the Rank Math plugin but I have been considering the pro version for me and my clients but want to be sure of issues before I buy. I believe anyone developing plugins should want their plugins working without issues.I know different combinations of plugins and themes can cause conflicts. Your focus saying my .htaccess file is the culprit doesn’t make since because that file is generated by the security plugin and I run it on all mine and my clients sites without it ever causing an issue with url’s that use the page id.
I will do the research on that file to verify but it isn’t good business to blame it when the only time it presents the problem is in the redirect of Rank Math.
Again I want this to work as I switched all mine and client sites from Yoast and All-in-One to Rank Math. But I never had this issue with them so I am just trying to identify the problem.
I will do my own research since you indicate it is up to me to solve or use the bandade suggestion you recommended.
