Hi, I try to make google index my website by submit the site index and video index. For video index I got this feed back
    ———-
Video isn’t on a watch page
These videos aren’t indexed or served on Google as video results
    ———–
When click to look at details. It might be because it’s under paywall page.
    ————
    Description
Video isn’t on a watch page
The video doesn’t seem to be on a watch page. A watch page’s main purpose is to show a user a single video; only videos that are on a watch page are eligible for indexing. Here are some examples of page types where the video is supplementary to the textual content, and not a watch page:

A blog post where the video is complementary to the text rather than the primary content of the page
A product details page with a complementary video
A video category page that lists multiple videos of equal prominence
For more details, learn how to create a dedicated watch page.

If you’re sure your page is designed to focus on a single video, use the URL inspection tool to check to make sure the video is showing up in the rendered HTML. Try moving the video container to a higher position in the HTML.

If you’re using a paywall, add structured data for paywalled content to prevent crawl issues.

I try to search the internet and it said By far the easiest way to do this is by using a WordPress plugin designed to add what’s called “Schema Markup” to your site.

Can rank meth do something like that?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with getting your videos indexed by Google. It seems that the videos on your site are not being recognized as being on a dedicated watch page, which is essential for indexing.

Rank Math can indeed help you with adding Schema Markup to your site, including Video Schema. This allows you to provide explicit information about your videos, which can improve their chances of being indexed correctly. Here’s how you can add Video Schema using Rank Math:

    1. Enable the Schema Module: First, ensure that the Schema module is enabled in Rank Math by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Dashboard in your WordPress admin area.
      Enable Schema (Structured data) module

    2. Edit Your Post or Page: Go to the edit page for the post where your video is located and click Edit.
      Click edit post

    3. Add Video Schema: You can add the Video Schema type by using the Rank Math settings in the Gutenberg sidebar or through the classic editor. Make sure to include all relevant details such as the video description, thumbnail URL, upload date, and duration.

    4. Check for Paywall Issues: Since your content is behind a paywall, ensure that you are using structured data for paywalled content to prevent crawl issues. This will help Google understand that the content is accessible under certain conditions.

    5. Use URL Inspection Tool: After making these changes, use Google’s URL inspection tool to check if the video is showing up correctly in the rendered HTML.

For more detailed guidance on adding Video Schema, you can refer to our documentation on Video Schema Type and Auto-Detect & Auto-Fetch Video Data.

    Hi, this didnt help.

I already use schema video in the post. And verify that google found 1 video on each post already.

Then i submit the index to google. The index is also from your rank meth provide. Inside there r also video index included in normal index as well.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention.

Please note that the “Video is not the main content of the page” is a recent error Google started showing on Google Search Console where Google requires that the video be the main or primary content on the page for it to show your video in video mode, not just as video thumbnails in the search results.

    According to Google:

The video is not the main content or primary focus for this page; only videos that are the main content of the page are eligible for indexing. Here are some examples of page types where the video is supplementary to the textual content, and not the primary focus of the page:”

    – A blog post where the video is complementary to the text rather than the primary content of the page
    – A product details page with a complementary video
    – A video category page that lists multiple videos of equal prominence

We would recommend you follow this thread where Google product experts have discussed the solution to this error: https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/252395207/observation-video-is-not-the-main-content-of-the-page?hl=en

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

oh damn, you are right. there is one post on my site that is been index as video and that post have the word video on the title.

The rest of my post haven’t been indexed.

In this case, either I have to change every posts of mine to included the word video in the title and URL.

Or I should change all the post scheme into article instead. Afterall, all the post that contain video have a long description about what video is about.

    What do you think?

and if there is a way to change a batch of post that exited from schema into article? or do I need to do it one by one?

    Hello,

If your videos are not being indexed as expected, Google likely considers them supplementary content rather than the primary focus of the page. Adding “video” to the title and URL might help, but it’s not a guaranteed solution.

If your content is more article-based with videos as supporting material, adding an Article Schema could be a good idea. Rank Math PRO allows you to add multiple schemas to a page.

You can set the default schema of your posts to the Article schema and then use the bulk action feature to apply the default schema to already existing posts.

Alternatively, you can apply custom Schema templates via Rank Math’s Schema Templates feature.

We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

    Thank you.
