Pages Not Indexing on Google – Discovered, currently not indexed issue

    Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with the indexing of my e-commerce website, bulgi.shop, and would appreciate some help or advice. Here’s a breakdown of the situation:

    Setup:
SEO plugin: RankMath (configured and optimized).
On-page SEO has been completed for all pages, including meta data.
The website is connected to Google Search Console.
Sitemap has been submitted and processed.
    The Problem:
Out of approximately 220 pages, only 20 are currently indexed. Most of the unindexed pages are product pages flagged in Google Search Console with the status “Discovered – currently not indexed.”

When I first submitted the sitemap, only 3 pages were indexed. After requesting re-crawls of problematic URLs, the number increased slightly to 15, but there’s been no further progress.

    Steps Taken:
I ran a SiteChecker.pro audit, which identified issues with HTTP/HTTPS URLs. These were fixed, but indexing didn’t improve significantly.
I’ve used Google Search Console’s URL inspection tool to request re-indexing several times, but most product pages remain unindexed.
    My Questions:
Why might my pages be stuck in the “Discovered – not crawled” state?
Could this be related to crawl budget issues or technical problems we haven’t identified yet?
Are there specific steps or practices for e-commerce sites that could resolve this issue?
Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards,
    Katrin Urumova

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the indexing of your e-commerce website, bulgi.shop. Thank you for providing a detailed breakdown of your situation; it helps us understand the problem better.

The status "Discovered – currently not indexed" in Google Search Console indicates that Google has found your pages but has not yet crawled or indexed them. Here are some potential reasons and steps you can take to address this issue:

    Possible Reasons for the Status

    1. Crawl Budget Issues: Google allocates a limited crawl budget to each site, which can affect how often and how many pages are crawled. If your site has many low-quality pages or if there are technical issues, it may lead to important pages not being crawled enough.

    2. Technical Problems: Ensure there are no restrictions in your robots.txt file that might prevent Google from crawling certain pages. Also, check for slow load times or broken links that could hinder crawling.

    3. Content Quality: Google prioritizes high-quality content. If your product pages have thin or duplicate content, they may not be prioritized for indexing.

    Steps to Resolve the Issue

    • Internal Linking: Improve your internal linking structure by linking to your product pages from other high-traffic pages on your site. This can help Google discover and prioritize these pages for crawling.
    • Check for Orphan Pages: Ensure that all important pages are linked internally. Orphan pages (pages without any internal links) may not get crawled effectively.
    • Use Instant Indexing: If you are a Rank Math PRO user, consider using the Instant Indexing feature to submit your URLs directly to search engines, which can help speed up the indexing process.
    • Monitor Crawl Errors: Regularly check Google Search Console for any crawl errors or issues that might be affecting your site’s visibility.
    • Quality Content: Ensure that all product pages provide significant value and are not considered thin or duplicate content.
