    Rank Math free

    Hi, i used to have Yoast and have changed to Rank Math. I have over 800 pages that Google wont index, they all link to images. I believe this is thanks to the yoast bug from 2018. I installed the yoast plugin to purge these pages, however that does not seem to have worked. Is this something i can do with Rank Math. I’m happy to buy the pro version if it means i can sort this out.

    hi, thank you. Here is one example, there are 544 of these on my one web site and over 2000 on my other site. They are all URL’s that point to images.

    Can this be sorted out with Rank Math Pro?

    Hello,

    Thanks for sharing additional information.

    The URL you’ve shared with us is seems to be an attachment page. As attachments pages can have a bad impact on SEO, we do recommend to redirect them to avoid any negative impact on your SEO.

    However, you can redirect them to avoid them getting indexed using the FREE version of Rank Math just by following the URL below:

    You may also try reading why should you redirect attachment pages:

    Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.

    hi, thank you. I have done the first part of the instructions, but cannot add the code snippet – ‘To add the code snippet, navigate to Appearance > Theme File Editor (for a Classic Theme) or Tools > Theme File Editor (for a Block Theme) inside your WordPress admin area. ‘ I dont have a ‘them file editor’ anywhere. Can you advise? I use wordpress with a flothemes theme.

    Hello,

    1. Some developers disable it for site security. There are also plugins that could be disabling it for the same reason. I would suggest disabling all plugins to be sure it is not being disabled by a plugin. You can use this plugin to do that safely, without breaking your site. If it is not being done by a plugin check your wp-config.php file (from cPanel/FTP) for the following line:

    define( 'DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true );

    change true to false, and save the file. Once you’re done, you should be able to see theme file editor option.

    2. If the above process doesn’t work for you, another option can be to edit functions.php file directly by using FTP/cPanel.

    3. If you don’t have access to a cPanel/FTP, you can use WP File Manager plugin to access files.

    Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
