pages not in sitemap

    Hi,

I’m having an issue with the sitemap generated by Rank Math: the XML sitemap only shows the homepage, while all other pages of the site are missing.
    teps I have already tried:

Rebuilt the Rank Math database tables via Tools > Database Tools.
    Re-saved the Sitemap settings.
Excluded the sitemap URLs from SiteGround Optimizer cache.
Verified that all pages are set to Index (not Noindex) and have the correct canonical tags.
Despite this, the XML sitemap still only includes the homepage.
In the page source I can confirm the correct meta robots (index, follow) and canonical tags are present.
Could you please help me understand why pages are not included in the sitemap and how I can force Rank Math to regenerate it correctly?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap. It sounds like you’ve already taken several important steps to troubleshoot the problem. Here are a few additional things you can check to ensure that all your pages are included in the Rank Math sitemap:

    1. Check Sitemap Settings: Go to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and ensure that all post types (like posts, pages, and custom post types) are enabled to be included in the sitemap.

    2. Flush Permalinks: Sometimes, flushing permalinks can resolve issues with the sitemap. You can do this by navigating to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress admin area and clicking the “Save Changes” button without making any changes.
      Flush permalink settings

    3. Check for Plugin Conflicts: Since you mentioned excluding URLs from SiteGround Optimizer cache, ensure that there are no other plugins that might be conflicting with Rank Math. You can use the Health Check plugin to help identify any conflicts.

    4. Validate Your Sitemap: Use a tool like the Validate XML Sitemap to check if your sitemap is correctly configured. This can help identify any underlying issues.

    5. Ensure Posts Are Set to Index: Double-check that all your posts are set to index. You can do this by going to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensuring the Index checkbox is enabled for each post type.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

Please please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you.

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. If the above steps don’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter to your site.

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

Here’s how you can add a filter/hook to your WordPress site:

Once done, clear your website cache and check the sitemap again.

Let us know how it goes. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you.
