1. Check if You’ve Added Sharing Images
Make sure you have added Facebook/Twitter sharing images through the Rank Math Meta Box. You can refer to the following image for guidance:

2. Verify Image Dimensions & Format
Ensure that the image you are using meets the recommended dimensions and format:
- Recommended Size: 1200px X 630px
- Supported Formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and AVIF.
If your image does not meet these criteria, it may not display correctly on Instagram.
3. Check Open Graph Tags
Make sure that the Open Graph tags are correctly set up on your page. If they are pushed too far down in the source code due to minification or caching, Instagram may not be able to find them. You can check if the og:image tag is present in the first 60 KB of your page’s source code.
4. Disable Gzip Compression
If you have gzip compression enabled in your caching plugin, try disabling it as it can interfere with Open Graph detection. For example, in W3 Total Cache, you can find this option under:
WordPress Dashboard → Performance → Browser Cache → HTTP (gzip) compression.

5. Clear Cache
After making these changes, clear your website and server cache (including any CDN like Cloudflare if enabled). Then, use the Facebook Sharing Debugger to scrape your page again.

I have troubleshot this issue, and now it sometimes appears on Instagram and sometimes it doesn’t. It has strange behavior and seems to depend on which person it’s sent to. We haven’t figured out the problem yet.

Instagram uses the OpenGraph tags added for Facebook to generate the link preview. So, the settings you will set for Facebook will also be used for the other social media sites.
However, please share the affected URL so we can check the issue as well. You can add it to the sensitive data section by editing your first post
