Page sitemap is not working

I am trying to upload a sitemap to google to get them to crawl our pages, and the sitemap seems to be having issues. The main page for the sitemap is working but when I click through to the page sitemap, I get a 404 error. Please see the link for more details: https://virtualshowbooth.com/sitemap_index.xml

I have already updated the Permalinks & Rank Math sitemap pages in the site admin, this did not fix the issue.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

You seem to have set your page(s) to noindex and which is causing the page sitemap to lead to 404.

Please make sure the post is not selected as ‘noindex’ in WP > Posts > Your Post > Advanced Tab in Rank Math.
    Screenshot:

    Individual Post Advanced Tab

Also ensure that the noindex is not selected for Global or Posts meta:

    Noindex Settings

If none of the above is set, please head over to Worpress Dashboard > Settings >Reading and ensure you ave not checked the option to discourage search engines from indexing your site

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

It was set to Index under “Global Meta” but No Index under “Posts”. However, after changing this setting the Pages sitemap is still not working.

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

If you have a caching plugin, please exclude your sitemap URLs from being cached then do the following:

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings

    Hit the save button once.

    That should fix the issue.

If it doesn’t, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,
