Page not showing up in sitemap despite being published and indexable

    Hi there,

I have a page on my WordPress site that is published, set to “index” in Rank Math, and not redirected — yet it doesn’t appear in the sitemap.

    ✅ The page is published
✅ It’s marked as “Index” in the advanced tab
✅ Canonical URL is set correctly
✅ It’s a child page (nested under a parent page)

    I’ve already tried the following:

Re-saving the sitemap settings in Rank Math

    Clearing my site cache

Refreshing the sitemap in an incognito window

Still, the page does not appear in page-sitemap.xml.

    Example URL:
    https://studiolataste.com/mariage/mariage-sud-ouest/mariage-nouvelle-aquitaine/mariage-lot-et-garonne/mariage-marmande/

Is there a setting that could be preventing child pages from being included in the sitemap?
Or should I manually force its inclusion?

Thanks in advance for your help!

PS : It’s ChatGPT’s text because i’m french and it’s too technical english terms for me

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your page not appearing in the sitemap despite being published and set to index. Thank you for providing detailed information about the steps you’ve already taken.

Here are a few things to check that might help resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Custom Canonicals: If you have set a custom canonical URL for this child page, it may not appear in the sitemap. Rank Math includes a self-referencing canonical by default, so if you have a custom one, consider removing it to see if that resolves the issue.

    2. Sitemap Settings: Ensure that there are no settings in Rank Math that might be excluding child pages from the sitemap. You can check this by going to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and reviewing the settings there.

    3. Parent Page Visibility: Sometimes, if the parent page is set to noindex or has visibility issues, it can affect the child pages. Make sure the parent page is also set to index and is visible.

    4. Plugin Conflicts: Occasionally, other plugins can conflict with Rank Math. You might want to check for any plugin conflicts using the Health Check plugin.

    5. Manual Inclusion: If none of the above solutions work, you can manually force the inclusion of the page in the sitemap by using filters in your theme’s functions.php file. However, this should be a last resort after checking all other options.

If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or questions, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we hope this helps resolve your issue!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

Please check the Rank Math metabox on the affected page, that you have not manually entered the canonical URL in the Advanced tab.

If you have, kindly remove the entry in that field for every page and allow Rank Math to generate self-referencing canonical URLs for those pages.

If that is not the case, it might be a cache issue.

In that case, follow these steps:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
