Page Not Found When Rank Math Plugin Activated

    Dear Rank Math Staff,

I am in the process of building a website. It has never been launched. I changed the slug for a page. Now the page cannot be found. It displays: “No Results Found
The page you requested could not be found. Try refining your search, or use the navigation above to locate the post.”

When this happened previously, I located the redirection that Rank Math automatically created and deactivated it. That solved the problem.

Because I am in the building process and change slugs occasionally, I disabled the auto redirection option in Rank Math. So, there is no redirection created for the page that cannot be found.

When I deactivate Rank Math, the page will display. When I reactivate Rank Math, I get the error message. For this reason, I believe the problem is with a Rank Math setting.

Can you help me resolve this issue? Thanks in advance!

    Ryan

  • Also, the issue can be resolved by de-publishing the page (ie changing it to draft). But, the page cannot be found when it is published again. Hope this additional information helps. Thanks! Ryan

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please share some of the affected URL here so we can take a closer look at it.

Also, please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi Jeremy,

I very much appreciate your assistance. The affected URL is:

    https://oldtownexplorer.com/full-time-travel/

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

    Hello,

This is the default behavior for categories that don’t have any content on them. This happens normally but when you enable our plugin we load the category page instead of performing the redirection that is handled by WordPress without our plugin.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi Miguel,

I think your reply above may be in response to someone else’s question (I think you’re explaining how the blog module works when there is no content for the designated category). That is not my issue.

My problem is that a page (not a post or a module) is not found when the Rank Math plugin is activated. For convenience, here is my original request:

I have provided my wordpress login information in the sensitive data and provided the affected URL (https://oldtownexplorer.com/full-time-travel/) above as Jeremy requested. It looks like someone has deactivated Rank Math on the website, but I have not yet received a response.

    Thanks in advance!
    Ryan

    Hello,

Upon investigating your site, it seems that you have also a category page with the same slug /full-time-travel/, and when Rank Math is enabled, the feature Strip Category is also enabled.

When that happens, instead of /category/full-time-travel/, the category page will be only /full-time-travel/.

However, I’ve already disabled that option to fix the 404 of the page. If you wanted to enable that option, then you may need to rename the slug to either the page or the category.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks Reinelle! I appreciate you troubleshooting this one for me. Best, Ryan
