I am facing an issue where only 3 out of 187 URLs on my website are indexed, while the rest show the error: “Page is not indexed: URL is unknown to Google” in Google Search Console. I have ensured that none of the pages are set to “no index,” all URLs are included in the sitemap submitted to the Search Console, and the pages are accessible without restrictions. Despite also using the “Request Indexing” feature, the issue persists. Could you please assist me in identifying and resolving the problem?

    My website URL: sensationsix.com

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s indexing. It can be frustrating when most of your URLs are not indexed by Google. Here are a few potential reasons and solutions to consider:

    1. New Website

If your website is relatively new (less than a few months old), it’s common for some pages to be marked as "not indexed". Google may take time to discover and index all pages. In this case, patience is key.

    2. Crawl Budget Issues

If your site has many pages, Google may not crawl all of them due to crawl budget limitations. Ensure that your internal linking structure is strong, as this helps Google discover more pages on your site. You can read more about orphan pages and how to improve your internal linking.

    3. Content Quality

Google may not index pages that it deems low quality or duplicate content. Ensure that your content is unique and valuable. If you have duplicate content, consider adding canonical URLs to point to the original content you want indexed.

    4. Site-Wide Quality Issues

If many of your important pages are not indexed, it could indicate a site-wide quality issue. Improving the overall quality of your website, including its structure and content, can help.

    5. Check for Penalties

Make sure your site hasn’t been penalized by Google. You can check this by searching for your website on Google; if it doesn’t appear in the results, there might be a penalty affecting your indexing.

    6. Use Instant Indexing

If you are a Rank Math PRO user, consider using the Instant Indexing feature to submit your URLs directly to IndexNow-enabled search engines.

    7. URL Inspection Tool

Utilize the URL Inspection Tool in Google Search Console to check the status of individual URLs. This tool can provide insights into why certain pages are not indexed.

If you have checked all these aspects and the issue persists, we recommend replying to this ticket so a human agent from the Rank Math Support team can assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

We checked some of the affected post/page URLs on your website and there’s no issue that will hinder search engines from indexing them on the SERP. The robots meta is correct and the canonical URL is properly configured.

In this case, please submit the affected URL/s to your Google Search Console’s URL Inspection tool and share a full screenshot of the report.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hello,

The URL is already set to index. Also, it is already present in your sitemap and your robots.txt is properly configured.

However, you have submitted your sitemaps individually based on your screenshot.

Please remove all your submitted sitemaps and resubmit your main sitemap only /sitemap_index.xml:

Once done, give Google some time to recrawl your site.

    Looking forward to helping you.

I have done that but it is not working

    Hello,

Please note that Google allocates a crawl budget to your website based on various factors, which directly impact how soon (or efficiently) your content can be indexed.

According to Google, crawling and indexing can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days/weeks. Be patient and monitor the progress using the URL Inspection tool.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

This content i have published in first week of dec 2024. till now it is not crawl and I also request for indexing from URL inspection.

    Hello,

We checked a page of your website but couldn’t find any technical error that may prevent this from being indexed on Google:

As we already mentioned, it is completely normal for newly published posts/pages to take time before they get crawled or indexed by Google. It depends on a lot of factors. Your posting frequency + the domain authority are just two of the many factors Google considers when indexing some new URLs.

Google assigns a crawl budget to your website depending on these factors (especially these two) and that has a direct effect on how soon or how late your content can get indexed.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

I have published url more than 1 month before and I also tried to reindex from google search console and my other URL also got deindexed.

    Hello,

It’s possible that Google is experiencing delays in crawling or has encountered temporary issues. The deindexing of other URLs could be related to fluctuations in the crawl budget or algorithmic adjustments.

We recommend reviewing Google Search Console for any coverage or crawl errors. If the issue persists, please allow more time for Google to recrawl your site. If needed, you can click on the button “REQUEST INDEXING” and see if Google forcibly crawls the URL.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
