I am having trouble telling the difference between RankMath and MonsterInsights. The MonsterInsights claims to be an SEO/Analytics package. Does RankMath provide similar functionality? I can’t tell from comparing the content on both sites.
Thank you,

Hello,
Thanks for contacting us, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
MonsterInsights not fully an on-page SEO plugin but is an essential Google Analytics tool for maximizing the optimization process.
In simple words, MonsterInsights’ primary focus is analytics, whereas Rank Math focuses on all SEO areas including analytics integrations. It means, Rank Math offers most of the features that MonsterInsights have.

Sakib,
To continue,
Learning SEO and how to use these tools seems quite demanding. I have briefly explored what is required to understand digital marketing and it seems daunting. For example, I’ve read that Google’s spider examines about 200 ranking factors per page in its page ranking algorithm. (Is that right?)
- 1. Are you suggesting that I should or could use both? Even though there would be some duplication of functionality, MonterInsights and RankMath each have different purposes, and/or complementary features?
- 2. I am beginning to feel that having a solid grasp of SEO theory is essential to any small businessperson in order to use these products. Do you agree with that?
- 3. If so, does your RankMath knowledgebase provide sufficient material to learn that?
- 4. If not, where do you recommend I look for more information?
- 5. Of course, there is also the matter of search strategies, knowing how to use SEO tools. Can you recommend a specific resource for learning that? I have examined the Coursera certificate course and found that it is not good enough for me.
- 6. I know that a Google provides a Google Search Console. Does RankMath use it to perform any of its features?
- 7. Lastly, I know that a Google Search Central exists, and that it has training documentation. Is there a site I can visit that is better for learning this material? It seems dry.
Thank you, Sakib

Superior Office StaffHello,
For example, I’ve read that Google’s spider examines about 200 ranking factors per page in its page ranking algorithm. (Is that right?)
The 200 figure seems to have originated around 2009, when Google’s Matt Cutts mentioned there were “over 200 variables” in the Google algorithm.
Things have changed quite a bit, as this was over a decade ago. Google has come a long way since then. So, it can be said that, there aren’t 200 ranking factors. There can be more than 200 ranking factors that Google algorithm follows.
1. Are you suggesting that I should or could use both? Even though there would be some duplication of functionality, MonterInsights and RankMath each have different purposes, and/or complementary features?
It’s completely up to you, if you want to use only one or both at a time. But I can suggest you to use only one at a time, as features of Rank Math and MonsterInsights are quite similar and may cause you conflict. If you still feel that you want to use both plugins at a time, you may keep specific features disabled to avoid any kind of conflicting issues. For example, if you wish to Connect Google Analytics to your site using MonsterInsights, you may keep Analytics Module disabled on Rank Math to avoid plugin conflict.
2. I am beginning to feel that having a solid grasp of SEO theory is essential to any small businessperson in order to use these products. Do you agree with that?
I agree with you that, it’s good to keep knowledge regarding SEO for a small businessperson.
3. If so, does your RankMath knowledgebase provide sufficient material to learn that?
Rank Math provides sufficient and detailed KB and articles on how you can use Rank Math and what should you do and not to do in order to get best SEO results for your site.
4. where do you recommend I look for more information?
5. Of course, there is also the matter of search strategies, knowing how to use SEO tools. Can you recommend a specific resource for learning that? I have examined the Coursera certificate course and found that it is not good enough for me.

Yes, Rank Math does use GSC to Automatically Submit Sitemaps to Google.
