Hi there,
I’m using WordPress Social Icons block to show buttons/links to facebook, linkedin and others. My questions is: Shouldn’t those count as outbond links? It keeps saying “No outbound links were found.”

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Rank Math only analyses the content inside the content editor for all the content analysis tests. The content/links added using shortcodes or any other plugins will not be analyzed.
You do not need to worry about that warning as Google will still see those outbound links.
Please note that the SEO score and guidelines are just for your reference, you do not need to follow them religiously.
I hope this helps. Looking forward to helping you.
Hi Anas, thanks for the answer, I understand what you mean, for sure Google will see them anyways, no problems there indeed.
But still, because this is a default block of WordPress added inside the content editor (not a shortcode or other plugin), I think it would make a lot of sense for RankMath to have this feature.
Besides, Rankmath already analysis the content inside other default blocks, for this case it would be a matter of also analyze this static content that is on the content editor:“<!– wp:social-link {“url”:”https://github.com/”,”service”:”github”,”label”:”Github”} /–>”.
I know saying like this seems easy lol But consider this a request that I think makes sense.
Congrats to everyone involved on this great plugin.
Hello,
Some blocks are still not reachable by Rank Math as they need to apply our Content Analysis API. This is the only way Rank Math can access or read the content from a content builder.
You would need to contact the developer of the plugin you use by showing the following link:
https://rankmath.com/kb/content-analysis-api/With that said, this will not affect your overall SEO performance as this issue only occurs on the backend.
I hope that helps. Please let us know if there’s anything else you need our assistance with. More than happy to help.
Thank you.
Thanks for the information, but then Rankmath basically waits for the developers contributing to WordPress itself (not a plugin) to add that code compatibility into WordPress blocks?
I don’t think WordPress would change code on their core to adapt to specific plugins. Because again: it’s not a plugin what I’m using, it’s core WordPress, default block…
I’ll mark as resolved because it’s not an urgent problem and it’s up to RankMath to decide to be compatible with all core WordPress features or not (accepting my request or not).
Thank you and have a good day.
Hello,
I deeply apologize for the confusion. After a couple of tests, Rank Math does and should read the social links by the WordPress blocks. Please refer to my video screencast here: https://i.rankmath.com/THuSWF
If this doesn’t work on your end then assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c
Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
