Hi,

I keep getting a pop up error message when editing posts in WP.

“Aw, snap! Something went wrong while displaying this web page. Error code: Out of Memory”.

I’ve already asked WPX to increase my memory, and they just sent me this.

“Okay, now the only log for exhausted memory is connected to the SEO By Rank Math plugin. Unfortunately, the memory limit is already set to the maximum allowed for permanent uses. This I will advise if possible to try editing with the plugin temporarily disabled or check with the plugin developers if there are any additional configurations that can be set for it not to exhaust the memory limit. Another option would be to try using another builder such as Thrive/Elementor as it may be the work between the classic editor and the SEO plugin that is creating the issue.”

Can you please help?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with for help fixing the out of memory error you receive while editing pages on your website.

Please verify that your server has the following minimum values set:
```
PHP Memory Limit: 512M
Max input time: 150
PHP time limit: 120
PHP max input variables: 1000
```
You can check the settings by going to Rank Math > Status & Tools > system status under ‘Server’. You can ask your host for help increasing the limits.

Hi,

These are set at 90 for me Max input time: 150, PHP time limit: 120.

But here is what WPX are saying “It is the maximum that is determined that can be allowed for all of our customers, Will. It cannot be permanently increased. If at at the end of the day such high execution time is required, a solution like a VPS may be needed as even now , you are using beyond what we normally allow for memory limit. Note that we generally host fast and light websites in terms of resource usage.”

How can I not be able to use WPX and RankMath? I’m not doing anything crazy.

Is the only solution here to decide between the plugin or host?

Hello,

As mentioned by my colleague, PHP Memory Limit should be at least set to 512M since I assume that there’s a lot of data or content on your website that needs processing.

This may require you to upgrade your server’s hardware resources.

Ok, and if WPX can’t do this (they said its currently at their limit), how do I fix?

If the issue persists after increasing the limit, we may need to check this one over your admin dashboard.

Thanks, like I said, WPX have said they’ve maxed out their data, so not really sure what else I can do. Please forgive me, I’m not the best with this kind of stuff either.

I tried editing a random post and it doesn’t cause any issue. Could you please share a specific step to recreate the error?
