The free version and all features included in the free version are and will always be free. The pro version adds more feature that do not exist in the free version.
If some of the free features don’t seem to work for you, Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

Please let us know if you find the culprit.
