Hello, my website pages do not have featured images, but when I share a page on social media, the logo image is captured. How can I stop the Open Graph image from appearing so that the link does not have an image?

  • Hello,

I understand that you want to prevent the Open Graph image from appearing when sharing your website pages on social media. To achieve this, you can follow these steps:

    1. Remove the Open Graph Image:

      • If you are using Rank Math SEO plugin, you can set a default Open Graph thumbnail at WordPress Dashboard โ†’ Rank Math โ†’ Titles & Meta โ†’ Global โ†’ OpenGraph Thumbnail. You can remove the image set there to prevent it from appearing as the Open Graph image when sharing your pages.
    2. Clear Cache and Rescrape:

      • After removing the Open Graph image, make sure to clear your website and server cache, including any caching plugins or services like Cloudflare if enabled. Then, you can use the Facebook Sharing Debugger to rescrape the page. This will update the Open Graph tags, and the image should no longer appear.
