One of offers or review or aggregateRating should be provided

Once a variable product has been sold out it gives an error in google search console:
“One of offers or review or aggregateRating should be provided”

Before the product has been sold out it gives about the same message, but as a warning, not as an error.

    The error goes away by:
    – adding stock: sold out is for this shop mostly sold out for ever, so no solution
    – adding a review: it’s a new webshop for clothes, with limited stock. hard to get a review for every product before being sold out, so no solution

    Any “real” solution for this?
I can live with the warning as it’s normal when there is no review (yet), but as errors have a negative impact on the Google ranking I would appreciate it if anyone can help me solve this.

    thx.

  • Hello,

Rank Math takes the schema data from your product pages automatically and turns it into Schema-ready content. Likewise, the aggregateRating and review fields are taken from your actual product reviews that your buyers/customers leave on your products.

If you don’t have any reviews yet, that is going to show up as a warning in the schema testing tool. That’s because Google will actually look for those fields.

Please acquire some reviews and ratings to get rid of the aggregateRating and review warnings.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.
But the problem is that in this case it’s not just a warning but an error.

–> In case of a simple product it is indeed just a warning.
–> In case of a variable product that has been sold out, it becomes an error.

Normally, at the end of every season all products will be sold out. So if this does not get fixed all the products will end up giving the same error.

Please see this example for more info: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/?hl=en#url=https%3A%2F%2Fkadarine.be%2Fproduct%2Fshirt-57%2F

    Hi Davy,

I am afraid we are not able to replicate this issue which makes me believe that the issue is only on your website. Please check this screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/PbAJDi

If I missed a step or there is other settings I need to change to replicate the issue, please let me know.

Otherwise, keep only Rank Math + WooCommerce + Twenty Twenty Theme enabled and then perform the test.

That will give you an idea of whether this is really caused by Rank Math or some other plugin/theme on your website.

Do let us know how it goes.

    Hi Todd,

thx for investigating this issue, but I don’t think it is specific to this site only:

I took a look at your screencast and I could see that you did a test with a product that had 1 review. As mentioned before it only happens when:
    – it’s a variable product
    – stock is empty
    – no reviews

–> in case of a simple product, no reviews, 0 stock: it’ just a warning: ok normal behavior
–> in case of a variable product, no reviews, 0 stock: it becomes an error: doesn’t look normal to me

As this webshop is a recent start-up, with limited stock, it’s impossible to get a review of every product before it’s sold out. And I don’t want to end up with an error on every sold out product.

thx again for looking into this problem.
