Old Pages Don’t Redirecti to New Ones

    Rank Math free

    Hi

I’m having trouble with redirects on my site using the free version of Rank Math. I’ve set up redirects for some old URLs to point to new pages, but when I test them, the old links aren’t redirecting—they just show a 404 error or stay on the same page. I’ve double-checked my redirect rules and cleared my cache, but nothing seems to work.

    My website is https://unitedmoversdubai.ae/

I am facing mental stress & trauma because of this error. Please help me fix this error so that it doesn’t affect my website in future.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the redirects on your site. It can be quite stressful when things don’t work as expected.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the redirect issues:

    1. Check Your Redirect Rules: Ensure that the source URLs are correctly entered in the Rank Math Redirection settings. Sometimes, a small typo can cause the redirect to fail.

    2. Clear Cache: Since you’ve already cleared your cache, make sure to also clear any server-side cache if you have caching plugins or services enabled.

    3. Check .htaccess File: Sometimes, redirects can be affected by rules in your .htaccess file. You can check this by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess. Look for any conflicting rules and remove them if necessary. Here’s how it looks:
      edit .htaccess

    4. Debugging: Use Rank Math’s debugging feature to identify any issues with your redirects. You can find more information on how to do this in our debugging guide.

    5. Test Redirects: After making changes, test your redirects again to see if they are functioning correctly.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, we recommend replying to this ticket so that a human agent from the Rank Math Support team can assist you further. They will be able to provide more personalized help and ensure that your redirects are set up correctly.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to resolve it for you soon!

    Hello,

Please share the redirect or old URLs you have created so we can check. You can upload screenshots using this tool and add the link here.

Meanwhile, try clearing your website and server’s cache for troubleshooting.

Also, please check if the redirection tables are created by heading over to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > System Status > Rank Math:

    Redirection tables

If those are returning 0, click this button in Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools:

Let us know how this goes.

Ok I’ll apply the above mentioned steps.
