The plugin is working fine with the latest WP version. Here’s a screencast:

It is likely because of WordPress 5.5 which is currently breaking websites right, left, and center:

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins, themes and WordPress (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
WP 5.5 brought a new error (not actually an error) that is not covered much and is related to the new jQuery version in the core. That is breaking many old themes and plugins. You have to stick with the developer that updates their products regularly or check with them and ensure they are compatible with WP 5.5.
If it is an issue with your theme, you can use this plugin until your theme provider releases an update: https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/#description
