I need to set my on-page schema to “Local Business”. However I’m not seeing that option in the Schema Generator and I can’t figure out why.
I’ve turned the module on, filled in all the settings, cleared my cache, and reinstalled Rank Math.
How do I make the option available to use?

Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Schema Generator not displaying the "Local Business" option. It sounds like you’ve already taken several important steps to troubleshoot this issue, which is great. Here are a few additional suggestions to help you resolve this:
-
Ensure Local SEO Module is Enabled: Double-check that the Local SEO module is indeed enabled in your Rank Math settings. You can do this by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Dashboard and confirming that the Local SEO module is active.
 -
Check User Role Permissions: Sometimes, user role permissions can affect what options are visible. Ensure that your user role has the necessary permissions to access all features of Rank Math.
 -
Update Rank Math: Make sure you are using the latest version of Rank Math. If there’s an update available, please update the plugin as it may resolve any bugs or issues.
 -
Conflict with Other Plugins: There might be a conflict with another plugin that could be causing this issue. Try deactivating other plugins temporarily to see if the "Local Business" option appears.
 -
Theme Compatibility: Occasionally, certain themes may not fully support all features of Rank Math. Switching to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) temporarily can help identify if this is the case.

If you have tried all these steps and still do not see the option, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that we can investigate further. A human agent from our support team will be able to assist you more comprehensively.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to resolve it for you soon!
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Yes, I’ve done all that already.
Hello,
Please note that Rank Math automatically adds the Organization/LocalBusiness Schema to your site using the information you add in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Local SEO.
For more details, you can check this URL: https://rankmath.com/kb/local-seo/
If you looking for the LocalBusiness schema template, it is only available to the custom location pages when you enable the Multiple Location option from the Local SEO settings.
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
Ok, I think I see. I have just one location. So the Local Business schema is set from the Local SEO settings rather than per page.
So if I use a different schema template on a particular page, does that override the Local Business one or add a second?
Hello,
In Rank Math PRO, if you want to use a customized Organization/localBusiness schema template, you may need to disable Rank Math’s automatic schema by following this guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/remove-organization-schema/If you create a schema template, it will not override the automatic schema from Local SEO, so you need to add the code from the guide to disable that.
Looking forward to helping you.
Sorry, I don’t think I was clear in my question.
I’m using the free version of RankMath and I’ve done all the Local SEO stuff in the module.
If I add a different schema template on a specific page – for instance, “Service” or “Course” – does that override the Local Business schema for that page or add another on top of it?
Hello,
Thank you for clearing that up.
We mentioned the Rank Math PRO because of the “Schema Template” feature we offer:
https://rankmath.com/kb/schema-templates/However, the Schema Templates you are referring to are the ones that are pre-built/pre-defined in the schema generator. When you use one of these, it is added on top of the schemas that Rank Math automatically generates for your site (like localBusiness).

Looking forward to helping you.
Perfect. Thanks for clearing that up. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t cancelling it out by using one of the other pre-built ones on a page.
Thanks for your help!
