Noindex tag is enabled but still many unwanted pages are indexed on Google

    Hi,

    I am using the last version of RM.
    Although I have set noindex tags to the pages I don’t want to be indexed, I still can see them on google using “site:MY WEB SITE” command. overall I can see on google over 1000 indexed pages.

    I have used the same command on other search engines (bing, duckduckgo, yahoo) and there the unwanted pages are not shown. Overall I can see on those search engines about 400-500 indexed pages.

    What could be the reason for the difference in the number of the indexed pages?

    Hello Eddie,

    If you set those pages as no-index a few days ago, it can be Google didn’t remove them yet, so you just need to wait.

    About the reason for the difference in the number of indexed pages, every search engine crawls websites at their own pace, so it is normal some deindexed more pages than others.

    Some of the pages were tagged with no-index tag few weeks ago. Is there anything else I can do except wait?

    Hello,

    You could go to the Search Console and ask it to recrawl those URLs (as the official Google documentation suggests here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=en).

    It is not guaranteed they will do it immediately but it could help.
