noindex images showing in SERPs

    Hi,

    I’ve enabled both ‘exclude this image from sitemap’ in WordPress settings, and No Index in RankMath settings for some images. However the images are still being displayed in SERPs.

    Any idea how to prevent the images from being displayed in search results please?

    Thanks for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.

    As you’ve already excluded the images from the sitemap, please clear your website’s cache and give Google some time to crawl your website and de-index the images.

    Thanks. I de-indexed the images over a year ago and caches have been cleared hundreds of times since then. They disappeared from the SERP, but have now returned.
