nofollow on site

I recently switched to Rankmath from a competitor offering. I’ve switched a couple of sites for clients to RankMath – I now noticed that the sites have a nofollow in them (see http://www.dirk-murer.ch or http://www.nadja-murer.ch) which blocks Google Search Console from indexing the sites.
The following string is added by RankMath: <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, nofollow”>

Where is this setting within the tool?

All individual pages have been set to follow.

    Thanks, Dirk

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the nofollow setting on your sites. It sounds like there may be a global setting or a specific configuration that is causing this behavior.

To resolve this, please check the following:

    1. Global Settings: Go to Rank Math > General Settings > Titles & Meta. Here, ensure that the default settings for your site do not include noindex or nofollow for the entire site.
    2. Page/Post Settings: For individual pages or posts, make sure that in the Rank Math Metabox (found in the page editor), under the Advanced tab, the Robots Meta settings are set to allow indexing and following links. You should select Index and Follow.
    3. WordPress Settings: Also, check your WordPress settings by navigating to Settings > Reading and ensure that the option to discourage search engines from indexing your site is unchecked.

If you have checked all these settings and the issue persists, it might be helpful to reply to this ticket so a human agent from the Rank Math Support team can assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern!
