Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website not indexing properly and the "no referring sitemap" message in Google Search Console. This can be frustrating, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention.
Here are a few things you can check to resolve the issue:
-
Ensure Your Sitemap is Submitted: Make sure that your sitemap is submitted in Google Search Console. You can do this by navigating to the Sitemaps section and entering the URL of your sitemap (usually yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml
if you are using Rank Math).
-
Check for Noindex Tags: Ensure that your posts or pages do not have a noindex
attribute set. You can check this in the Rank Math settings:
- Go to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensure that your posts/pages are set to index.
- Also, check the global settings at WordPress Dashboard → Settings → Reading to ensure the option to discourage search engines is not enabled.

-
Robots.txt Configuration: Check your robots.txt
file to ensure it allows Googlebot to crawl your site. You can edit this in Rank Math under WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit Robots.txt. Make sure there are no disallow rules blocking access.

-
Manual Indexing Request: If everything seems fine but your posts are still not indexed, consider using the Google Instant Indexing API to manually request indexing for your URLs.
If you continue to experience issues after checking these settings, please reply to this ticket with your website URL so that a human agent can assist you further. Thank you for your patience, and we hope this helps resolve your issue!

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
The “no referring sitemap detected” means the page has been discovered by Google, and Google knows about it, but not through the sitemap.
Please note that a sitemap is only one of many ways Google discovers the URLs of your site. If Google discovers the URL through other means, it may not cross-reference your sitemap to check if the URL is there. Hence the “No referring sitemaps” message.
We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.
Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback.
Now, the issue is that, once i get that message for a particular url, it usually doesn’t appear on SERP that’s what really raises concerns for me. Here the url https://recruitmentactivity.net/, you can please run a check to confirm, thank you.
Hello,
We’ve checked your site, and it is already set to index. Your sitemap and robots.txt are already configured.
In this case, you should check your Google Search Console > Indexing > Pages section to determine any issues reported on your URLs that may have prevented your site from being indexed:
