  • Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap not being detected by Google. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this problem:

    1. Validate Your Sitemap

Make sure your sitemap is correctly configured. You can use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to check it. Enter your sitemap URL and click VALIDATE SITEMAP. If everything is set up correctly, you should see a "No issues detected" message.

    2. Ensure the Sitemap is Located in the Root Folder

Your sitemap should be located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The URL should look like this:
    https://yourdomainname.com/sitemap_index.xml

    3. Check Indexing Settings

Ensure that your posts are set to index. Go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and make sure the Index checkbox is enabled in the Robots Meta settings.

After making any changes, remember to click Save Changes.

    4. Check Robots.txt File

Make sure that your robots.txt file is not blocking Google from accessing your sitemap. You can check this using the HTTP Status Tester to see if your sitemap URL is allowed or blocked.

If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

Please note that a sitemap is only one of many ways Google discovers the URLs of your site. If Google discovers the URL through other means, it may not cross-reference your sitemap to check if the URL is there. Hence the “No referring sitemaps” message.

Googlebot may have found the URL from internal links or possibly from links on another site.

Regarding the “Crawled – currently not indexed”, most of the time when a page shows this error, it’s because the Google algorithm believes that the content of the pages won’t add anything to the current results that can be found for the same topics so it holds off on indexing.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
