    Hi,

It’s been a couple of weeks now and my pages still aren’t showing on GSC. I’m getting 51 pages showing No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag

I’ve read through similar posts on here and have made sure the index has been selected in global and post settings.

    Any ideas?

    Link in sensitive data.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks

    Matt

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

I have checked your sitemap and it looks updated with all the latest posts.

This sometimes happens if your website was previously marked noindex or if the website is new.

Could you please try to re-submit the sitemap in the Search Console and wait for Google to crawl your sitemap.

    That should fix the issue.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Thanks for the reply Anas, I’ll give it another go. Do you know how long it would normally take to index?

    Cheers

    Hello,

Unfortunately, there is no fixed time for Google to crawl and index the web pages.

Usually, it takes between 4 days and 4 weeks for your brand new website to be crawled and indexed by Google.

I hope this helps. Looking forward to helping you.

    Update.

I’ve just checked again and it says the sitemap was successfully indexed, however, they are all still showing as excluded.

    Hello,

Just to be sure that you have not discouraged your site from search engines, please head over to WordPress dashboard > Settings > Reading > Make sure you have unchecked the checkbox:
    discourage

If everything is correct, I’ll suggest you wait for some time and let Google crawl your sitemap.

Alternatively, you can submit the URLs in the URL inspection tool, this can help your posts to get indexed.

    I hope this helps.

    Hey,

Just tried the Rank Math instant indexing but still no luck. As you mentioned above the search engine visibility isn’t checked, so I’m really at a loss why it’s not indexing.

However, when I do a live test on a link in GSC I get this:
    URL is available to Google
If it gets indexed and selected as canonical, it could appear in Google Search results with all relevant enhancements. Learn more

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

You mentioned in your first post that there are 51 pages affected by this. Could you please share a couple on the sensitive data section so we can investigate further?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Miguel,

    Thanks for the reply.

yes that’s right 74 excluded in total, 51 no includes and 13 crawled and not indexed…please see links in the sensitive section

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Upon inspecting your sitemap it seems that is being heavily cached.
    Sitemap cache

I would recommend that you make sure to exclude the sitemap from being cached by following this tutorial: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

After doing that you should flush the sitemap like so: https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

Lastly, after completing all these steps, remove the current sitemap from your GSC and add it back again. Remembering to only include the main sitemap: https://yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml

Let us know how it goes after performing these.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi Miguel,

    Cheers for that.

I’ve just carried out those steps and it’s still showing the same number of excluded. Do I need to instant reindex or carry out any other steps?

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

You could request another instant index, but before doing that can you make sure that all your pages are showing in the sitemap now? The reason I’m asking is that you mention 74 pages but your sitemaps don’t have that many pages.

Under those links with errors do you see anyone that is not on your website anymore?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Yeah it’s saying I have 74 excluded – 51 no includes and 13 crawled and not indexed.

    I have 8 valid and 0 errors

My sitemap is saying 27 successfully discovered URLs

    Any ideas?

oh and yes all my posts seem to be in my sitemap

    Hello,

Thank you for the update, and sorry for the delay.

I’ve checked your site, and it seems that the URLs you have provided are already indexed and showing in Google search results. You can also use this tool to check:
    https://smallseotools.com/google-index-checker/

Could you please try manually submitting the URLs in your GSC and see if the issue still persists? If so, could you please take a screenshot of the issue using this tool and share the link in the sensitive data section to check?

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
