No indexing categories and tags

    I am trying to ensure that I am not having google index my category and tags. From what I can tell the settings in my RankMath Sitemap settings are set by default not to include them. But when I search site:calledtowander.com on google it shows that my categories and tags are discovered. I do not want to dilute my crawl budget. Can you help me learn how to ensure that categories and tags are not included?

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    I have checked some of your categories and they seem to be marked index.

    Can you please check these settings?
    1. Navigate to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Categories > Turn on Category Archives Robots Meta > Check no-index checkbox
    category

    2. Navigate to Post > Category > Check your individual category and make sure they are marked no-index.

    Thank you for the follow-up, and sorry for the delay.

    From your screenshot, it seems that the meta box is not showing from your individual category pages (please correct me if I’m wrong).

    If they are not showing, please head over to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Post: Categories/Tags and enable the Add SEO Meta Box

    Please note that some options are only available when you enable the Advanced Mode in Rank Math. If it’s not showing, you must have chosen to use the Easy Mode. Please follow the steps in this link to switch to Advanced Mode:

    From there, you can check the categories and tags individually if they are still set to index.
