No-Index issue plus no “Advanced” tab in my UI

    Rank Math free

I recently downloaded and activated your free plug-in. Then I did the easy setup wizard and proceeded to set up analytics and search console.

I submitted the site to be indexed, and this morning got a response from search console saying my site is set to no index. I checked WordPress settings under reading to make sure I took the check mark off there, and I did. Then I checked rank math settings, and apparently it says that it’s set to be indexed.

So I have no idea what the problem is. I tried to check the individual settings for my home page, but I have no “Advanced” settings tab on the UI. I’ll paste a link to a sceenshot saved in my Dropbox.

I’m using Astra Pro theme with Elementor Builder. There’s no advanced tab in Elementor nor the regular WordPress editor.

I was really eager to get my site indexed as I just launched the business. Please help. I need to figure out this “no index” issue as well as why I have no “Advanced” tab.

I was very much considering a paid sub but now I’m unsure. I’m not sure if it’s your plugin causing the issue and if I deactivate it, I have to go to the trouble of setting up another SEO plugin before attempting to index again cause I don’t want the site indexed till I at least have some basic SEO set up (page title, meta, etc). And I was really hoping to get away from Yoast (which is why I was so excited to discover RankMath). Anyway, let me know if you have any suggestions.

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the "No Index" setting and the absence of the "Advanced" tab in your Rank Math plugin. Thank you for raising this concern.

To address the "No Index" issue, please follow these steps:

    1. Check Rank Math Metabox: Open the homepage in the WordPress Editor. If you are using the Gutenberg Editor, click the Rank Math SEO icon in the top-right corner to open the Rank Math Metabox. For Classic Editor and taxonomy terms, scroll down to find the Rank Math Metabox at the bottom of the page.

    2. Enable SEO Controls: If the Rank Math Metabox is not visible, ensure that you have enabled Add SEO Controls from Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta Settings → Pages (or other relevant sections).
      Add SEO Controls

    3. Switch to Advanced Mode: If you cannot find the Advanced tab, please ensure that you have switched to Advanced Mode from Rank Math SEO → Dashboard. This will allow you to access more detailed settings.

    4. Set Robots Meta: In the Rank Math Metabox, navigate to the Advanced Tab and check if the Robots Meta is set to No Index. If it is, select the Index checkbox and update the page/post.

Tried everything the bot recommended and nothing was set to no index. I just tried clearing my hostings cache and asked google to validate the fix to see if that does anything. But in the meantime, any other ideas.

BTW – the bot was able to help me get the Advanced tab up so that was helpful. I just need help with the no index issue now.

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

We checked your homepage, and we can confirm that the robots meta is set correctly to index even other pages. However, only the homepage is indexed on the SERP at the moment.

Please submit the affected URL/s to your Google Search Console’s URL Inspection tool and share a full screenshot of the report.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
