New URLs being created for images

    I’m not sure why but some of my posts are showing new URLs when I upload images – this is coming up through my sitemaps.

    You’ll notice #10 is correct, with the page showing the blog post and the second link showing the photo itself. #11 though has made a new URL to relate back to (that doesn’t exist) and #12 has done the same. It seems to be that case for all of the images in that blogpost.

    Do you know why that might be happening please?

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    It is likely that this is being caused by the option to add image attachments to the sitemap file.

    You can however easily fix this by enabling the option to redirect attachments by heading over to Rank Math > General Settings > Links > Redirect Attachments
