Need to update my regex from the Redirection plugin to rankmath

#970676
  • Hello,
I have set redirections on my website using the Redirection plugin.
I’ve tried doing it using Rankmath but seems complicated that the common syntax out there so it turns out not to work for me.
I make they don’t conflict though but Rankmath keeps showing an error message on my dashboard to disable another seo plugin on my site that it may affect traffic and ranking. Not sure that should impact ranking and traffic anyway.
Let me know what you think concerning that and currently my website traffic dropped, I don’t know if it was a Google update, it just happened all of a sudden and hasn’t been better as it used to since then.

Here are my regex redirection settings on the redirection plugin:
    from:
    ^/category/(.*?)/amp/?$
    to:
    /category/$1/

    From:
    ^/tag/([^/]+)/?$
    to:
    /artist/$1

    from:
    ^/(.*?)/amp/?$
    to:
    /$1/

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing with your redirections and the error message regarding the other SEO plugin. It’s important to ensure that only one SEO plugin is active at a time to avoid conflicts that can affect your site’s performance and rankings.

Regarding your regex redirection settings, here’s how you can set them up in Rank Math:

    1. For the first redirection:
      From: ^/category/(.*?)/amp/?$
      To: /category/$1/
In Rank Math, you can create a regex redirection by selecting the option for regex and entering the above values.

    2. For the second redirection:
      From: ^/tag/([^/]+)/?$
      To: /artist/$1
Again, ensure you select the regex option when setting this up in Rank Math.

    3. For the third redirection:
      From: ^/(.*?)/amp/?$
      To: /$1/
Make sure to use the regex option here as well.

If you continue to see errors or if the redirections do not work as expected, please check if there are any conflicting rules or settings in the other SEO plugin that might be causing issues. You may also want to consider disabling that plugin temporarily to see if it resolves the problem.

As for your website traffic drop, it could be due to various factors, including recent Google updates or changes in your site’s SEO settings. It might be helpful to monitor your site’s performance in Google Search Console to identify any specific issues or penalties that may have occurred.
