Hello, This was my first website I am really working on. I had started with a premium theme and Rank math SEO plugin. I recently came to know website structure is important for SEO, so I started worrying about my website structure. I have deleted an unneedy tab from menu and added Home button.

    1. Could you please check my website for website structure, whether it is appropriate for google bot developing correct sitelink out of it.

    2. What should I improve?

    3. I have 4 categories so the links in the menu looks like “www.website.com/category/mobile” similarly other 3 categories.
I have checked many other websites, they don’t show “categories” in URL.
I am leaving a great website example with same theme as I am using, but my site is nothing like his site (his site has sitelink also)

I am totally lost, Please help me with making good website structure for my website.

    Please guide.

    Hello,

    Thanks for contacting us.

    1. I checked your site on the Rich Results Test and your site is eligible for rich results. So yes, your site is good enough to get sitelinks but it’s totally up to Google. There is no specific setting or Schema to instruct Google to display links in Sitelinks.

    2. Here is a guide to help you with improving your site’s chances to get sitelinks: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-sitelinks/

You can also run an SEO Analysis on your site from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > SEO Analysis. It will let you know what improvements you can make to improve your site’s SEO.

    3. To remove categories from the URL, please navigate to WP Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Links and enable the Stip Category Base option.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you for replay Jaideep. Could you please check once whether my website structure is alright and easy to understand, even for Googlebot?

Also, I’ll follow the guide you have shared.

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up, and sorry for the delay.

The guidelines provided by my colleague have all the necessary information to check whether your website is eligible to display the Sitelinks on the Google search results page.

Since Google Sitelinks are earned only by those websites that acquire first place in the SERP’s, here are some of the factors Google considers when ranking you:

    1. Your website’s authority

    2. Your content’s quality and how better it is than the other article currently ranking.

    3. How competitive the keyword is.

    4. How many backlinks you have and if they are better than what the other guys ranking for that keyword have.

    5. Your website’s crawlability.

    6. Frequency of new content and content updates.

    7. So much more that there is a dedicated blog post on it by Brian Dean 🙂

I would recommend that you keep at it and work on acquiring more links to break into the top SERPs.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance.
