Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s ranking after switching to Rank Math. It’s concerning to hear that your site has been de-ranked in Google search results.
There are several factors that could contribute to this situation:
-
SEO Plugin Transition: Switching from one SEO plugin to another can sometimes lead to changes in how your meta tags and other SEO settings are configured. If the settings were not properly transferred or configured in Rank Math, it could affect your rankings. We recommend reviewing your Rank Math settings to ensure everything is set up correctly. You can refer to our detailed setup guide here.
-
Google Algorithm Updates: Google frequently updates its algorithms, which can impact rankings. If your site was affected by a recent update, it might explain the drop in visibility. You can check if your traffic drop correlates with any algorithm updates using our guide here.
-
Content Quality and Relevance: Ensure that your content remains high-quality and relevant to the keywords you are targeting. Google prioritizes content that provides value to users.
-
Security Issues: If there are any security issues with your site, it could also lead to penalties or de-indexing. You can check for security issues in Google Search Console.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
Sorry for the experience you had while using the plugin. We will try our level best to help you get to the bottom of this.
There are a few things you have to keep in mind when using any SEO plugin, not just Rank Math.
1. An SEO plugin alone cannot bring down or bring up the traffic in a day (or even a few days) unless incorrect Meta Tags are used by setting up the plugin improperly. That’s why we have a detailed tutorial on that: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/
2. All the SEO plugins add Meta tags for the search engines which can be checked by viewing the source of a page. For instance, here: view-source:https://rankmath.com/
Other popular plugins generate similar tags: https://i.rankmath.com/n94KyH
And with the Rank Math plugin, additional tags are added to a page so search engines can understand the content on a website better.
3. Google brings a new algorithmic update several times a month and the chances are great that your website got hit by that.
We have a full guide on how to recover from such update: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/
So, to start we would recommend a complete SEO audit by following the steps here: https://rankmath.com/blog/seo-audit/
Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
