Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap after migrating your site. The "Couldn’t fetch" error in Google Search Console can occur for several reasons, especially after a migration. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Validate Your Sitemap
Make sure your sitemap is correctly configured. You can validate it using the Validate XML Sitemap tool. Enter your sitemap URL (e.g., `https://rankmath.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Flush-Permalinks-Settings.jpg) and click VALIDATE SITEMAP.

2. Ensure the Sitemap is Located in the Root Folder
Check that your sitemap is located in the root folder of your new domain. The URL should look like this:
3. Ensure Your Posts Are Set to Index
If all your posts are set to noindex, your sitemap will be empty. Go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensure the Index checkbox is enabled for your posts.

4. Flush the Cache
If your sitemap appears outdated, flush the sitemap cache by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings. Increase the value of Links Per Sitemap by one and save changes.

Then, go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes to apply the current settings.

5. Exclude the Sitemap From Caching
Ensure that your sitemap is not being cached. You can refer to this knowledgebase article on ensuring that your sitemaps are excluded from caching.
6. Add the Correct Version of Your Sitemap to Google Search Console
Make sure you have added the correct URL variation of your site in Google Search Console. You can check this in Settings → General from your WordPress dashboard.
7. Resubmit Your Sitemap
After making these changes, resubmit your sitemap URL in Google Search Console under Indexing → Sitemaps.
If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

Troubleshooting the “Couldn’t Fetch” Error in Google Search Console » Rank Math
Hello,
Thank you for contacting support.
Your domain is fairly new and the sitemap must have been submitted not long ago, which means that this error is not an issue fetching the sitemap, but rather the indication that Google has not processed it yet.
For new domains, this can take a while so you need to be patient and wait for the sitemap to be processed by the Googlebot.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
My other domain like viralbocil.sbs also facing same problem that sitemap could not fetch and i had submitted to GSC everyday for a month and still could not fetch
How about that? What is the solution?
Hello,
You won’t need to submit your sitemap every day.
You’ll just need to submit it once and ensure that you’re only submitting your sitemap index /sitemap_index.xml:

Once done, give Google some time to process the sitemap and you’ll also notice that the “Last read” date column will be updated.
Looking forward to helping you.
