Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the unexpected redirects on your site. Since you mentioned that you are using the Redirection plugin and have disabled Rank Math’s redirection options, there are a few steps we can take to troubleshoot this issue further.
1. Check for Other Redirection Plugins
First, ensure that there are no other redirection plugins installed that might be causing these redirects. If you find any, consider disabling them temporarily to see if the issue persists.
2. Check .htaccess File
Next, check your .htaccess file for any redirect rules that may have been added. You can do this through your WordPress dashboard:
- Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess.

If you see any additional redirection rules, delete them and check if the problem is resolved.
3. Check for Theme or Plugin Conflicts
Sometimes, conflicts between plugins or themes can cause unexpected redirects. You might want to perform a quick conflict check:
- Disable Rank Math and see if the redirects still occur.
- If they do not, try disabling other plugins one by one to identify the source of the conflict.
4. Review Rank Math Redirections
Even though you mentioned that Rank Math’s redirection option is disabled, it’s worth double-checking if there are any hidden redirects configured within Rank Math:
- Go to Rank Math → Redirections and review any existing redirects that may not be immediately visible.
If after following these steps the issue persists, please reply to this ticket with any additional information or findings, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!
It looks like the issue might be related to the attachment redirects. When I disable the Rank Math plugin, the pages that show for these two urls appear to be attachment pages. However, even with the attachment redirect option turned off we still see the issue.
Hello,
This happens when the Redirect Attachments option is enabled on your site, and you have a media or attachment URL with the same slug.
If that is the case, you can re-upload the media with a different file name or at least rename the attachment URL to a different slug to avoid getting the -2 or -3 in the URL.
Let us know how this goes.
Hi Reinelle,
Thanks, but it also occurs even if I disable that option. Is there another solution? I’d rather not try to update the images as they are used in a few users email signatures!
Hello,
The URLs in the sensitive data section of this ticket are now returning a 200 status code and no longer redirecting anywhere.
Regarding the URLs with the number in the slug, that happens because you have essentially 2 pages with the same slug and since the slugs need to be unique, WordPress automatically adds the number to the second page.
Then only way around this is by changing the slug of one so it doesn’t conflict with the other.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Thanks Miguel. Looks like there was a delay or cache of some sort showing the redirect for me.
Hello,
That’s alright. We are glad this issue has been resolved. We appreciate your feedback.
