  • did you fix it? or do i have to do the folder-stuff?

    i cant remove folders on Hosting provider?

    is it on the theme? or the hosting provider? i cant have it like this forward?

    Hello,

    The Rank Math plugin is installed and activated on your website. You do not need to do anything else.

    But we want to know when does this issue happen. Is it happening after every update?

    If so, next time, before updating, please ask your hosting provider to update the plugin as this seems like a server configuration issue where the older plugin files are not getting replaced correctly.

    Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    ok.. i will let the hosting provider see this message.

    what are they supposed to update, before i update? and will this be all the time?

    also.. if i have elementor pro, do you guys now if i should update pro-version or the “elementor”?

    Hello,

    You can inform your web host before updating the Rank Math plugin when we released the next available update to check the issue on their side. Also, you won’t need to tell them every time as they can check the issue on the next update and suggest a possible fix for this.

    Yes, you should always keep all your plugins and themes up to date.

    Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    ok.. thanks reinelle.

    ill pass this to the hosting company.

    but my question was if i should update the original elementor or the pro plugin?

    Hello,

    Yes, you must always keep all your plugins and themes to the most recent version.

    Rank Math is compatible with the latest Elementor & Pro versions, but you need to test the other plugins.

    For such scenarios, always update on a staging site first and then on the main site.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.

    hi.. this is the answer i got from my hosting provider ragarding rankmath and my site. its from a chat thread..

    Did clicking “Reset file permissions” solve the problem?

    Unfortunately I can’t help with individual sets, I know more people run RankMath and don’t have similar exam members. So the question is if it is some other plugins causing change in the rights on the folders. We know there are plugins that can do that and hence we have this button to help restore this. Basically why it gets stopped is security when we see files being manipulated.

    It’s more of a developer issue than it is about the hosting. You need to consult a web developer who can troubleshoot this. something is wrong with rankmath and/or your plugins.

    ———

    What do you suggest from rankmath?

    Hello,

    The only way a plugin could get deleted from the website is with the following:

    1. You delete the plugin yourself manually, which could be excluded in this case since you clearly be aware of it.

    2. If you are using a security plugin that has a file-scan feature and it deletes a single plugin file it would delete the entire plugin for security reasons. Plugins such as WordFence can do that if they incorrectly detect malware on a plugin file.

    3. Any automated feature that automatically updates plugins could also cause this if for some reason the update didn’t go through.

    4. A final possibility but less likely is if the manual update of the plugin would go wrong but that is something that you would notice immediately since this needs to be triggered by a user on the website.

    To get further information and seeing if the plugin gets deleted from the WordPress internal hooks you can add the following filter and when the plugin gets deactivated again you could check the temporary log to find the time of the deletion:

    add_action( 'deleted_plugin', function( $plugin_file, $deleted ){

    	if ( $deleted ) {
    		$datetime = date( 'd-m-Y H:i:s' );
    		error_log(
    			"[{$datetime}] Deleted plugin {$plugin_file}\n\n",
    			3,
    			WP_CONTENT_DIR . "/temp-debug.log"
    		);
    	}

    }, 20, 2 );

    If after the deactivation of the plugin you don’t see anything in this temporary debug log, it means that some other plugins or the hosting provider are the root cause of this and it would need to be investigated further with an experienced developer.

    Hope this helps pinpoint the exact issue.

    Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    thanks for your feedback, service and your tips.

    where do i add your filter? in the code?

    Hello,

    You can add the code to your active/child theme’s functions.php file or use a plugin like Code Snippets as mentioned below:

    Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
