Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your posts sitemap not being updated. There are a few reasons why your latest blog posts might not be appearing in the sitemap:
-
Caching Issues: If you have caching enabled on your website, it might be serving an older version of your sitemap. We recommend clearing your website cache to see if that resolves the issue.
-
Sitemap Settings: Ensure that you have not blocked any post types from appearing in your sitemap. You can check this by going to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and verifying the options for each type of post or taxonomy.
-
Content Availability: If the posts are newly published, ensure they are set to public and not in draft or private status.
-
Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with the functionality of Rank Math. You can check for conflicts using the Health Check plugin.
-
Flushing Permalinks: If you are still experiencing issues, try flushing your permalinks. Go to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress admin area and click the “Save Changes” button without making any changes. This can often resolve sitemap issues.
If none of these solutions work, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!

Hi
I still have the problem after following the previous instructions
regards, Bruce
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
Please note that only the posts that are set to index and have a self-referencing canonical URL are included in the sitemap. You can check the Advanced tab of the meta box to make sure that the post is set to index and doesn’t have a custom canonical URL: https://rankmath.com/kb/advanced-tab/
Also, follow these to flush the sitemap cache:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
If the issue persists, please share the affected URLs so we can check this further.
Looking forward to helping you.
1. Flushing the sitemap cache worked perfectly.
2. Excluding the sitemap files…
I am using Litespead and have added this to my EXCLUDE URI’s
/(.*)sitemap(.*).xml
/(.*)sitemap.xsl
/sitemap_index.xml
/product_cat-sitemap.xml
Am I set up correctly, will this work in future?
regards, Bruced
