Multisite Sitemap

Hello RankMath

We have a wordpress multisite of 5 restaurants each with their own domain eg. restaurant1.com, restaurant2.com…
The client now wants to use the same domain for all the sites eg. restaurant.com/restaurant1, restaurant.com/restaurant2.

For us this is fairly simple just change the url for the site to a subdirectory instead.
But their SEO guys says the best solution is to put everything under one site.

This would mean we have to move everything from multiple sites to one site. Then install some user permission plugin and select which pages which restaurant can edit.

When i ask them what the reason is that it needs to be under one site they really cannot answer it.

For my very basic understanding of how google works then i don’t see why this would effect google.

My question is basically if we have a collection of restaurants which all shall live under the same domain. What would then be best for “Google” for crawling the site? One site with everything in it or one site per restaurant.

It just makes sense that it is in separate sites because every restaurant updates pages menus cards and other stuff on their site.

I know that it’s not exactly a RankMath question. But we just want some expert help and this was the only way i could find a way to contact you.
