Multiple robots.txt files on WPML

    Hi,

    We run a multi-lang site that runs on WPML.

    We have our own robots.txt set up on root as is best practice.

    In addition to that, RankMath setups a unique robots.txt for each language folder. This is NOT best practice, it’s to be considered spam.

    What’s worse is that the robots.txt’s are contradicting each other on crucial points.

    We want to turn off and remove this functionality, please advise ASAP.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Rank math only creates a sitemap, robots.txt and any other related data for the default site. The translations are done automatically by WPML depending on your settings.

    In your case, each translation is set to seem like a separate domain, in which case separate sitemap files and robots.txt are generated.
