  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with multiple XML sitemaps showing 4xx errors on your website. The 4xx errors indicate client-side issues, which can be caused by various factors. Here are some common reasons for these errors:

    1. 404 Errors: This occurs when a page cannot be found, possibly due to deleted pages or incorrect URLs.
    2. 400 Errors: These indicate that the server cannot process the request, which may happen if there is an error in the code or if the website is down for maintenance.
    3. 403 Errors: This occurs when access to the website is restricted, such as when it is password-protected or behind a paywall.

To identify the specific issues causing these 4xx errors, you can use Google Search Console or the Index Status report in Rank Math’s Analytics. Here’s how:

    • In Google Search Console, navigate to the Crawl Errors report to see a list of all logged 4xx errors. You can find this under the Pages section and click on the Not indexed tab.
    • Alternatively, check the Index Status under Rank Math SEO → Analytics → Index Status tab for real-time data on your pages’ status.

Once you identify the specific 4xx errors, you can take steps to fix them. For example, setting up redirects for 404 errors or adjusting your .htaccess and robots.txt files for 403 and 401 errors respectively.

For more detailed guidance, you can refer to our article on how to fix the ‘Blocked due to other 4xx issue’ error.

    Hello,

Please note that Rank Math generates your sitemap at /sitemap_index.xml and it is working properly without any issues:

We’re not sure where the XML URLs are being detected from. If you’re using Ahrefs, we recommend reaching out to their support team to identify the referring pages where these URLs are being found.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
