    hello,

I recently added the %modified% snippet to the meta description and I noticed that either the date displayed is wrong or it is not showing up at all.

I found online that there used to be bugs on the google’s end but in this example I noticed the date displayed is not just a random one, as it is a date of birth, inside the article. (https://personefamose.it/sarah-castellana)

Here’s the screenshot of the example. The article was updated on the the 5th of Septemeber 2020.

I am a bit concerned as this issue can affect performance of the website.

    Thanks for letting me know.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The date showing is usually generated by your theme according to your settings. If you check your page source or test your URL wot a tool like https://www.heymeta.com/ or
https://smallseotools.com/meta-tags-analyzer/ you will find the correct met description added to your page. Here is a sample screenshot:

Please get in touch with your theme provider to help you remove/modify this.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
