I would like to move forward with your service, but I’m using your plugin and my meta description isn’t showing. The website is utahbasementexperts.com and my email is j*******@u**********************. I need to understand how to fix this problem. If you look in the HTML, the description is there. I think there might be a problem with the database. If you do a site:utahbasementexperts.com, you will see some of the onsite optimization is screwed up.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your meta description not showing correctly. Thank you for providing your website URL and details about the problem.

Since you mentioned that the meta description appears in the HTML but is not being reflected properly, there could be a few reasons for this:

    1. Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with how Rank Math saves or displays meta data. We recommend checking for any plugin conflicts by following our guide on plugin conflict.

    2. JavaScript-Related Errors: If there are JavaScript errors on your site, they might prevent Rank Math from functioning correctly. You can diagnose these errors using the JavaScript Console in your browser. Here’s how to check for JavaScript errors in Chrome:

      • Open Developer Tools by navigating to More Tools → Developer Tools from the Chrome menu or using the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + J (Windows) or Cmd + Option + J (Mac).
      • Click on the Console tab to see if there are any errors that need addressing.
        Open Developer Tools
        Open console tab
    3. Database Issues: If you suspect a database issue, it may require a deeper investigation. Ensure that your database is optimized and that there are no corrupt tables affecting the functionality of your site.

If you’ve gone through these steps and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket with any specific error messages you find or further details about what you’ve tried. A human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to helping you resolve this issue!

I only noticed a few issues with cookies in the console. According to the Health Check plugin, there were only problems with deleting disabled plugins and adding a backup theme. Besides that, I didn’t notice anything. The really weird thing with this problem is only the homepage and one other page are having problems. I don’t understand what needs to be fixed. Any help would be most appreciated.

I tried to add the debug code, but you system said I was blocked. I don’t get it.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

Please note that the issue is not related to the database or anything else on your site. Google only reads the metadata and content present in the page source. The correct description is present in the page source, but Google is not using it. This could be a temporary thing and you can wait for Google to recrawl the site and update the description. You can also try changing the SEO description and see if that helps.

There is no issue on your site, as your site’s pages have the correct description. It is completely up to Google if they want to use it or not: https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

There’s no way that is correct. There is obviously a problem. I have been doing digital marketing for a long time. If you don’t want to help, that’s fine, but you are wrong.

    Hello,

The max-snippet:8 robots meta tag value is set in your page’s source code. This means only 8 characters will be shown for your meta description.

To fix this, head over to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Global Meta and set it to -1

    max

If you have modified it per page, then you should update the value manually by editing those pages under the Advanced tab.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Awesome. Thank you so much for the help. I thought I might have misconfigured that. I appreciate having another person take a look at the problem.
